Asian mother help?

My asian mother won%26#039;t let me wear makeup. I%26#039;m 14, a freshman, and I am #1 in my competitive highschool. How can I convince her? (keep in mind, ASIAN mother)

I%26#039;ve tried for like the past 2 years without any luck. I%26#039;m satisfied with my looks since i dont have the asian eyes or yellow skin etc, but I still on to boost my self confidence a little. I only want mascara. Thanks!
Asian mother help?
then just wear the mascara and take it off when your around her
Asian mother help?
just tell her onlya little and or maybe wear it to school and take it of when your commin home even go to dollaram to buy t
Reply:well maybe u should wait till ur 16, but nobody really need makeup, try to focus on something else, like u probably have amazing hair and beautiful eyes, and ur #1! thats awesome, but u have to compromise, but then again ASIAN, maybe u shouldnt fight her and just wait
Reply:then just wear the mascara and take it off when your around her
Reply:I really don%26#039;t know. She%26#039;s your mom, so you%26#039;re kind of stuck with her rule unless you go behind her back and break it. (the rules, not her back)

Your mom will probably cave eventually...mine did. Just make sure she knows you want to wear mascara and mascara only, and don%26#039;t nag her too often or she%26#039;ll think you immature.
Reply:Lol my asian mother didn%26#039;t want me wearing make-up until I was a junior, makes no sense at all. I ignored her one day and wore eyeliner and she walked in my room seeing it and she gave me a little yell but that was about it. I started wearing it again and again and I guess she realized it actually made me look better and mature so she let it slide. Now I can wear mascara or anything else! Thank god my mother is also a makeup whore or I would be doomed. Lol. :)
Reply:i have an asian mother too so i know how you feel =[

what i do is put it on in school, but mascara isn%26#039;t too noticeable in the first place.

it%26#039;s very hard to convince my asian mom for something lol.
Reply:just start wearing it, if she has fights with you, fight back and tell her it%26#039;s just a little mascara, and if she doesn%26#039;t let you this much freedom , you be able to concentrate o school work because you would be sooooo depressed.
Reply:put it on at school
Reply:it%26#039;s just a little mascara so start wearing it. if she yells let her, but never lie to your mom
Reply:i have an asian mom as well, but i started to wear makeup at 12/13, so i think thats just ur mom or some. just to clarify, asians have various eye shapes %26amp; no one has yellow skin. if you want mascara, i say put on one coat (dont curl if you dont want her to notice). im assuming you can go buy the mascara yourself, dont use others. go ahead %26amp; put on some mascara, if she screams its not the end of the world.

my dad caught me putting on makeup at 10 %26amp; went nuts! i also stole my mom%26#039;s lipstick at 6 %26amp; traded it for a chapstick. right now im a part time makeup artist, so your mom will come around eventually.
Reply:Mascara isn%26#039;t that noticable unless you%26#039;ve made them way longer. If you have very little and small eyelashes then you can%26#039;t go over board with the mascara or else your mom will find out. Just wear it when she isn%26#039;t around. Quietly buy on your own and wear it when you leave your home and then take it off before you get home.
Reply:No amount of makeup will boost your self confidence. Hell, your #1 in your class, why in the world would you need a self confidence booster? : )

If it really bothers you that much, use a friend%26#039;s mascara.... wear it home and see if she notices. If not, and I doubt she will, point it out to her and show her how silly she is being.
Reply:Another fellow Asian girl here. My own mom forbade me from wearing makeup until i was about 15 or 16. She said makeup was bad for my skin and that being totally natural was the most beautiful thing. Be thankful for not wearing much makeup because it IS the best thing for your skin. And if you%26#039;re happy with your looks then it shouldn%26#039;t matter whether or not u put stuff on.
